The American International Building is a 66-storey, 952 foot (290 m) tall skyscraper in Lower Manhattan, New York City. Its address is 70 Pine St # 50, New York, NY. It was built in 1932, during the New York skyscraper race, which explains its Gothic-like appearance, with a spire top popular in the skyscraper architecture of that time.

The American International Building was the tallest building in Downtown Manhattan until the arrival of the World Trade Center. After the September 11 incident, it was once again the tallest downtown building, and the fifth tallest in New York City.

The American International Building was previously owned by Cities Services Company, and was called Cities Service Building. It sold it to American International Group (AIG), which uses it as its world headquarters. Cities Service still maintains some offices in the building.

Getting there

Take the 4 or 5 train to the Wall Street Subway Station or the J or Z train to the Broad Street Subway Station and walk from there.
