Antelope Canyon is a stunningly beautiful slot canyon in Arizona. It is located on Navajo land near the town of Page, Arizona. It comprises two separate sections known as Upper Antelope Canyon (also called The Crack), and Lower Antelope Canyon (also called The Cockscrew). In the Navajo language, Upper Antelope Canyon is called "The Place Where Water Runs Through Rocks" (Tsé bighánílíní) while Lower Antelope Canyon is called "Spiral Rock Arches" (Hazdistazí).

Antelope Canyon got its name because herds of pronghorn antelope used to roam the area. As far as the Navajo people knows, the area has seen human habitation for a long time. It was a site where people used to graze cattle during winter.
The popularity of Antelope Canyon among tourists particularly photography enthusiasts has made it a major income earner for the Navajo Nation. As it is a Navajo Tribal Park, it can only be accessed by permit. Visitors wishing to enter can only do so through guided tours provided by the authorized guides.
