Asia Society is an organisation located in the Upper East Side of Manhattan, New York City. It was founded by John D. Rockefeller III in 1956 to promote greater understanding of Asian culture. The society, which is a non-profit organization, has centers in Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington DC, as well as in Hong Kong, Manila, Mumbai, Seoul, Shanghai and Melbourne, operating with its headquarters in New York City.

Today the Asia Society is housed in an eight-storey red granite building at 725 Park Avenue. The building underwent renovation in 2001 where its gallery space was increased. One of the galleries is devoted to exhibiting Rockefeller's own collection of Asian sculptures, amassed through his travels in Asia.
