Bank of America Tower is the second tallest building in New York City and the 4th tallest in the United States. It is located on Sixth Avenue, between 42nd and 43rd Streets, across from Bryant Park.

Construction of the Bank of America Tower began in 2004, and the building was completed in 2009 at a cost of US$1 billion. It was designed by Cook+Fox Architects. The building is 1,200 ft (366 m) tall and has 54 floors, a very low number for a building of such a height. However this is due to its spire, without which the building is only 953.5 ft (290.6 m) to the roof.

The Bank of America Tower is said to one of the most efficient and ecologically friendly buildings in the world. It has floor-to-ceiling insulating glass that holds heat within and maximizes natural light. There is an automatic daylight dimming system that controls the amount of light.

Getting there

Take the 7, 7X, N, Q, R or S train to the Times Square-42nd Street Subway Stations, or the B, D, F or M train to the 42nd Street-Bryant Park Subway Station and walk a short distance to reach the tower.
