Bozeman is a city in Galatin County, in southern Montana. It covers 20.3 sq mi (32.6 sq km) and has a population of 37,000 people (2011 estimate), making it the fourth most populous city in Montana. The city is 4,820 ft (1,461 m) above sea level.

Bozeman was founded in 1864 and named after the founder of John M Bozeman, who established the Bozeman Trail connecting Montana with the Oregon Trail. The city is home to the Montana State University - Bozeman.

Today Bozeman is renowned for its wide range of outdoor activities, which include mountain climbing, kayaking, hiking and fly fishing. The city is also one of the gateways into Yellowstone National Park.
