City Hall Park & Park Row is a green in the Civic Center district of New York City. This was where the Americans staged protests against English rule during the pre-Revolution period. On the west lawn of City Hall is a memorial called Liberty Poles. It is a symbol of the revolt.

It was at City Hall Park that George Washington read out the Declaration of Independence on July 9, 1776. On the southern tip of the lawn was a museum established by P.T. Barnum, best known for the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. Called Barnum's American Museum, it opened in 1841 but burned down in 1865.
