The Con Edison Headquarters is the main office of Consolidated Edison, the biggest investor-owned energy company in the United States. Its headquarters building was built at E 14th Street in Manhattan, New York City, in 1911, and it became a local landmark.

The address of Con Edison Headquarters is 4 Irving Place. It occupies a whole city block between East 14th and 15th Streets, and between Irving Place and Third Avenue. The site was occupied by its predecessors, the Manhattan Gas Light Company in 1854, and when it was completed, was originally called the Consolidated Gas Company.

The Con Edison Headquarters was designed by Henry Hardenbergh, who also designed The Plaza Hotel and The Dakota. The 26-storey building was constructed by the same firm that built the Grand Central Terminal.

In keeping with its position as an energy company, the Con Edison Headquarters is lit up at night, making it a spectacular landmark.

How to reach Con Edison Headquarters

Take the L train to the 3rd Avenue subway station. You will see the Con Edison Headquarters building at the corner of 3rd Avenue with E 14th Street.
