Georgia is a state in the southeastern region of the United States of America. Georgia experiences a humid subtropical climate. The state is prone to tornadoes, including one which hit downtown Atlanta on 14 March, 2008, causing some damage. The state, especially the coastal areas, is also vulnerable to hurricanes. On the other hand it has also went through severe droughts in 2006 and 2007.
