Greenwich is about twice the size of Manhattan. If fact it is just 40 minutes by express train from Grand Central Terminal in Manhattan. Greenwich has a coastline facing the Long Island Sound. Calf Island and Great Captain Island are two of the islands off the coast that are also within the city limits.

Greenwich experiences a humid continental climate. The warmest month here is July, when the average high temperature touches 83°F (28.3°C). Coldest month is January, when the average low temperature dips to 21°F (-6.1°C).

Greenwich was settled in 1640 and officially founded as a town in 1665. The city has come a long way since then, becoming a hub for the financial services industry, particularly hedge funds.
