Herald Square is a square in New York City. It is formed by the intersection of Broadway, Sixth Avenue and 34th Street. It got its name from the New York Herald newspaper, which had its offices there between 1893 to 1921. Herald Square is part of bow-tie square created by the intersection of Broadway with the many streets that cross it. On the south side of Herald Square is Greeley Square, forming the other side of the "bow-tie".

Herald Square was part of the seedy mid-19th century theater neighborhood which was called the Tenderloin District. An urban renewal of the 1890's cleaned up the sleaze. Today it is a shopping district anchored by the presence of Macy's. It is thus the terminus of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, which is broadcasted live each year by NBC.

Herald Square is also featured in the song Give my Regards to Broadway, where the lyrics include the line "remember me to Herald Square".

How to reach Herald Square
