Hot Springs National Park is a national park in central Arkansas. Covers just 5,550 acres (22.46 sq km), it is the smallest national park in the United States. The park is located next to the city of Hot Springs and was established on 4 March, 1921.

As its name suggests, Hot Springs National Park was named after the numerous hot springs within it. These springs flow from the western slope of the Hot Springs Mountain. Rather than preserving them in their natural state, the hot springs have been managed to provide uncontaminated hot water to the public.

 As Hot Springs National Park is just a stone's throw from downtown Hot Springs, it is easily accessible. There are places within the park for camping, and hiking trails for you to explore the area. The Bathhouse Row, on Central Avenue in Hot Springs city, is a National Historic Landmark with some of the grandest bathhouses in North America.

Visiting Hot Springs National Park, Arkansas

Take the Interstate-30 and continue on US Highway 70 to reach Hot Springs. US Highway 270 (Malvern Ave) will also take you to Hot Springs.

Hot Springs National Park is open all year round while the visitor center is open daily from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, with extended hours in summer. It is closed on New Year Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

The park offers free admittance. Camping fee ranges from $10 per night no hookups to $24 per night full hookups (inc. 30 and 50 amp electrical connections, water and sewer connections).
