Judson Memorial Church is a church at 55 Washington Square South in Greenwich Village, Manhattan, New York City. It was built in 1892 in the Romanesque style.
Judson Memorial Church was named after Adoniram Judson, the first American to serve as a missionary in a foreign land. Judson was a missionary in Burma in 1811. His copy of the Bible in Burmese was placed in the cornerstone of the church when it was dedicated.
Judson Memorial Church stands out in New York society for the role it often plays on local as well as world issues. It is also used as a venue for avant-garde art exhibition and off-Off Broadway plays.
