The Little Singer Building is an early 20th century building at 88 Prince Street in SoHo, Manhattan, New York City. It is located at 561 Broadway, between Prince and Spring Streets. The Little Singer Building got the "little" added to its name to differentiate it from the 47-storey, much "bigger" Singer Building that was demolished in 1968, to make way for One Liberty Plaza.

As with its long-departed taller sister, the Little Singer Building was designed by architect Earnest Flagg. Both were built for the Singer Corporation, famous for making sewing machines. This charmingly ornate building is regarded by many as more beautiful than the demolished one, and is thankfully still standing today.

The Little Singer Building is 12 storeys tall. Its façade is of terracotta, glass and steel, building materials regarded cutting edge at the time of construction.

How to reach the Little Singer Building

Take the R or W trains to Prince Street subway station. Walk west on Prince Street and you will see the Little Singer Building on your left. It is green in color, and at time of writing (Feb 2010), houses the Spanish clothing store MANGO.
