Manhattan Mall is an indoor shopping mall in New York City. It is located at the intersection of West 33rd Street and Sixth Avenue with entrances directly to the 34th Street-Herald Square Subway Station and the 33rd Street PATH Station.

Manhattan Mall was originally the flagship store for Gimbels, a rival to Macy's, a stone's throw away. However Gimbels closed down in 1986. Later tenants included A&S and Sterns, both of which also pulled out. Presently and anchor tenant is JC Penney, operating its first store in Manhattan. Although the mall has 13 levels originally, the upper floors were difficult to access, hence they suffer from reduced traffic.

A major makeover reduced the number of retail floors from 13 to just 2. JCPenney is the new anchor tenant when it opened a 150,000 square foot store there on 31 July, 2009. It was the first JCPenney store in Manhattan. Manhattan Mall is open Mondays to Saturdays from 9:00 am to 9:30 pm and on Sundays from 10:00 am to 8:30 pm.

How to reach Manhattan Mall

Take the B, D, F, M, N, Q or R train to the 34th Street-Herald Square Subway Station and exit the station directly into the mall.
