Nevada is a state in the western part of the United States. It covers an area of 110,561 sq mi (286,367 sq km). Nevada is bordered by Oregon to the northwest, Idaho to the northeast, Utah to the east, Arizona to the southeast and California to the west and southwest.

The tallest peak in Nevada is either either the 13,147-foot (4,005-meter) Boundary Peak or the 13,065-foot (3,982-meter) Wheeler Peak. The reason two peaks may be regarded as the highest in Nevada is due to different interpretation, with some regarding Boundary Peak as being a subsidiary of Montgomery Peak, which is in California.

The main airport serving Nevada is the McCarran International Airport (LAS) in Las Vegas, the 15th largest airport in the world in terms of passenger traffic. The airport has two terminals, with Terminal 2 for international flights. It is a major airport for two airlines, low-cost carrier Allegiant Air and Southwest Airlines.

By Road
If you are planning to explore Nevada extensively, then driving provides the most freedom. Two major interstate highways cut across the state - I-15 in the south passing through Las Vegas while I-80 in the north through Reno.
