New Amsterdam Theatre is a Broadway theater regarded as one of the most opulent theaters in the United States. It is located at 214 West 42nd Street, between Seventh and Eighth Avenues, within the Theatre District of Manhattan. When it opened in 1903, it was also the first theater with an Art Nouveau interior.

The New Amsterdam Theatre was owned by Florenz Ziegfeld, who produced the Follies revue there from 1914 to 1918. It had the first Broadway $5 ticket price. Ziegfeld remodelled the roof garden into another theater, called the Aerial Gardens. As with many of the theaters in the area, the New Amsterdam Theatre fell into hard times until the rehabilitation of the Times Square area in the 1990's, when business picked up again.
