The town of Salem is perhaps best known for the Salem Witch Trials of 1692. Today the people celebrate that part of their history with many witch-theme icons, such as spotting the witch logo, naming their football team The Witches, and so on. Even the television series Bewitched is celebrated by having a bronze statue of Samantha Stephens, the character in the show played by Elizabeth Montgomery.
