Salmagundi Club, New York City
The Salmagundi Club is located at 47 Fifth Avenue in Greenwich Village, Manhattan, New York City. The building is the last remaining mansion on this part of town. It was built in 1853 for Irad Hawley.
The Salmagundi Club was founded in 1871. In 1917 it bought the building that became its premises until today. The Salmagundi Club also houses the American Artists' Professional Legue, the American Watercolor Society and the Greenwich Village Society for Historic Preservation. How to reach the Salmagundi Club
Take the L, N, Q, R or W train to the Union Square/14th Street subway station. Walk west along E 14th Street until intersection with Fifth Avenue, then turn left and walk south along Fifth Avenue until you reach the intersection with W 12th Street. The Salmagundi Club is on the left side of Fifth Avenue after the intersection.
