Introducing Seattle

Seattle Travel Guide is written to provide you with useful information for planning your trip there. You will find here useful travel tips for your arrival in the city, and list of all the tourist attractions you might want to visit.

About Seattle

Seattle is the largest city in the state of Washington. It is a seaport between Puget Sound and Lake Washington. The city has a population of about 602,000.

The first European to reach the Seattle area was Arthur A Denny in 1851. The early settlement was known by various names before the name Seattle was proposed by David Swinson "Doc" Maynard, an American pioneer and doctor, in 1853. The name Seattle is a corruption (or you can say anglicized version) of Sealth, the name of the tribal chief of the area.
