Wall Street is the name of the street in Lower Manhattan, New York City. It runs from Broadway to South Street on the East River, passing the Financial District. Wall Street was the first permanent home of the New York Stock Exchange, which has its trading floors there. Other exchanges headquartered on Wall Street and the Financial District of New York include NASDAQ, AMEX, NYMEX and NYBOT.

The name Wall Street has become the metonym for the influential financial establishment in the US. A "Wall Street company" would be one dealing with financial services, though its headquarters might no longer be physically located on Wall Street.
It is believed that Wall Street was named after the Walloons, a group of French-speaking Dutch people who help establish New Amsterdam back in the 1630s. However, to the English speaking, the name dates back to the 1653 palisades erected as defence against attacks by Indian tribes.

Take the 2, 3, 4 or 5 train to the Wall Street Subway Station or the J or Z train to the Broad Street Subway Station and walk from there.
